    Suggestion for Win XP compatible compiler/editor

    Very new to C, sort of learning it right now. I'm getting a new comp with XP in about a week or so, so I won' seroiusly start until after that. In the mean time I wanted to go ahead and have a good compiler/editor picked out. I've looked around but either they are DOS based, or I can't figure out what they are...
    Sorry if I sound stupid...

    commercially there are MSVC, Borland, CodeWarrior, and some others non commercially look here
