any book recommendations?

I've learnt the basics of C++ and C already and I want to move onto the next level, and that's windows programming. I like to learn more stuff about API, creating dlls, hooking, etc.

The problem is that I don't know any better book that can help me with this.
I've read Ivor Horton's Beginning Visual C++ and it has covered some aspects of windows programming but not enough because the book is entirely about the basics of C++ and CLI... so yeah, you get my drift.

I'd expect a book that relies on VS2008 IDE for this stuff... as I'm happily familiar with the IDE, lol.

Thanks in advance!

Windows via C/C++ & Pertzold/richter books.

Also at some point read windows internals to really understand what's going on.

If you understand those 4 books you will be pretty much g2g.
