Ah I misread your post and I thought that the chip that you have was the one you wanted to get.
I don't know enough to say what would be a good choice, but you can go browse anandtech and tomshardware and do some research, and ask some question on their forums. I bet they'd know the answer.

Thats usualyl the case wher they used extremely old (i.e. cheap) memory manager chips or a cheap PIC or a cheap etc etc.

Most of the time in modern systems the CPU is not the bottleneck, its usually the memory bandwidth. This is particularly the case with the new multicore designs.
