hi i have single big primary partition on my disk and now i wanna split this up and create logicals. i tried Partition magic but it won't allow to do this. u guys know any other ways (except using diskpart and reinstalling the os)?

Partition Magic won't do that for you? I used to do that all the time with PM. Hmmm. Ill join in on the curiosity then.

You can do it using Partition Magic, I did it recently. Other that or use gparted.
[1] Resize the primary partition to make room for the other partitions
[2] Partition the new free *unpartitioned* space
[3] Clap
my mistake. i've been trying to use pm's 'split' function, which is disabled on my primary. instead i choose 'create a new partition' and all went well, and now i'm dual booting linux and xp. thanx.
