query on xterm?

Hi,

Can i know how to change the foreground and background colors of xterm window?
Also war the Xfce4 confguration files resides.

The colours are controlled by "X resources" and you can change them by editing a configuration file in your home directory http://xwinman.org/resource.php

i am using bash shell.
