I decided to download the SUSE 10.2 DVD ISO (x86) the other day, since Vista trashed my 10.1 install. Burned it to a disk with Nero 7, and the disk boots up fine. I get into the install fine too, untill I get to the installation summary page. The window opens that says "evaluating package selection", then that dissapears and I'm left on the summary page. The partitioning heading is fine; just tells me that it can't modify the partiton table because of Vista. The software selection and locale settings hang reading "analyzing system...". It doesn't move past this point; I actually left it there overnight to see if it would change, but it was still stuck there this morning.
I've tried starting the install with acpi=off, and maxcpus=0 (required appearently, if you try safe mode or turning off acpi), and starting with the safe settings options. Same problem each time. I tried removing my second network card, which didn't help either.
I ran the firmware test, and get messages like:
-"PCI-Express port driver reports an invalid IRQ" (that one sounds bad. no idea what it means)
-"E820: MCFG mmio config space at 0xe0000000 is not reserved in the E820 table"
-"failed to locate HPET base"
Any suggestions?
