    processes not exiting or quit

There are a few progs that have several processes that do not quit or exit when the main prog exits. example. mediashell tv on xp when exit box is clicked there are a few processes still running. ehmsas.exe ehshell.exe ehtray.exe ehsched.exe
Have to click quit process tree or quit process to end the process.

Also when i use a .bat to killtask for these they do not quit or exit. something is messed up.

there are other progs like this. but all the processes should exit or quit when the quit box is clicked. meow.

    ideas or suggestions?
except buy another computer or pull the plug.

Many programs don't clean up correctly after themselves. There is corrective sofware that does this for you with one click of the button.

Other than that, don't use programs like that. Watch TV on a tv screen. That's what they are for. Computers were built for more interesting things.

<pouty lower lip> but i like to watch tv....

Computers were built for more interesting things.
    such as?

it is more than just the one prog that does that. The prob started when i started to use more anti spyware scanners. something got del or corrupted by the adware or spyware.
time to reinstall the os again....arrgh....

what gets me is that killtask in .bat file do not killtask or processes.... wonder why that is messed up.
    thank you for reply

I only use Spybot S&D, which is freeware and a great program. There's only one thing it could do better, when it detects spyware that is running, it wants to do restart, but it should just close that program and then delete it. Then I close and delete it myself.

I have no anti-virus programs nor firewalls and everything is working great.

Once there was a research that computers without anti-virus programs and firewalls get approximately 1 virus in 10 minutes. I have never used anti-virus programs and I have never had any viruses (in 8 years).

i have and use spybot s&m it is a great prog. i also use xsoftspy and update them manually. xsoftspy does get more tracking cookie stuff than spybot s&m. i believe that between the two there is nothing that can get by <well 94% of all stuff> there has been a time or two i would finde stuff the antiadwares and antispyware progs did not get the stuff. you have to be carefull when you use xsoftspy becasue it does delete things it should not i think. and it sets the automatic update to on .... i like to update manually <personal preff> also i like www.dnsstuff.com to check the update sites to make sure they are ligit. before any up date. ditto. also xsoftspy is quicker after the first system compleat scan. but i like to use both just to check the puterbox.
while both are free meow they both together are the best combo. then hijackthis.exe as a final scann. parinoid meow yes. ditto meow.
