Blinking Screen

The monitor on my new LCD blinks black (usually when i minimize something). This isn't the only time this has occured. It also happened with an old CRT monitor. The LCD is plugged into the same outlet as the CRT was. Do you think there could be a problem with the outlet/power strip? Neither of these monitors did this at very first, but they progressively started.

It's possible that it could be a little power surge. Is the power cable in the exact same socket on the power strip? If none of your other components seem affected, then try putting the monitor power in a different socket. If it's anything else, I really can't help you as I'm not exceptional at troubleshooting hardware problems like that.

Try another cable or try your cable on other computers.

Once I had a broken cable.
