    time command

I have to examine the time taken for the execution of a c program..

    I tried

    Code:
         time ./a.out
and this is what i got:

    Code:
         the reqd output ..

    real 0m0.004s
    user 0m0.000s
    sys 0m0.010s
does it show the output in milli-seconds?? or, what does the output really mean?

Read the manual on the time command perhaps?
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
