In the english language, the punctuation is supposed to go between the sentences not at the end in one big lump.

First off, you need to ask yourself how much money are you willing to spend on this PC. Then check the recommended specifications for those games and start with that as your minimum. Most likely you should require about 1Gb of RAM, a 3.0Ghz processor and a high quality 256Mb graphics card. ATI Radeon cards or GeForce 4s are your best choice in that line. Once you get a price quote on your minimum specifications, then start rationing the rest of your savings for whatever upgrades you feel you'd need in the future.

world of warcraft? Got DSL or Cable? 'cause you'll need it that's for sure.
But here is a good list of components that is similar to my system:

    Case w/good power supply $120.00
    AMD Athlon 64 4000+ $350.00
    Gigabyte K8NF-9 Motherboard w/PCI-Express $100.00
Corsair 1Gig dual channel kit $100.00 (upgrading to 2Gig might not be an overkill some say)
    250GB maxtor with 16mb buffer $150.00
NVidia GeForce 6600 GT with 256mb ram $180.00
    Samsung DVD-RW burner $40.00
    OS XP Pro $150.00

Total could hit aprox $1500, or even $2000 by the time your are done decorating and setting up the whole shot.

Also I don't suggest the ASUS A8V-E board due to poor northbridge fan performance, I had to replace my with an aftermarket heatsink, and i also took of the fan so it runs quiter, and stays at normal temps.

I do suggest to get a good heatsink and fan for the CPU unless you will be placing your machine in the basement where it's usually cool and dry, otherwise be prepared to hit that power button, 'cause AMD will overheat and fry on you! they don't throttle like Intels P4.

And if you don't plan on christmas tree i would get some red and green light tubes and decorate the inside of your case to make it look cool, and no hastle with all the needles on the floor.

Get some exhaust fans for the rear of the case, and an intake for the front.

If you gonna build a gaming system don't cut back on power supply, you'll need a good one with at least 400wats, Enermax is a good brand, they got fan controller on the back that I like.

Play games on CRT monitors, LCD screens are not that good yet, not enough kick out of them for their price. But if u insist on LCD get one with 8ms responce time or less

Thats a lot of info, hope u understood it all, it ain't that hard.

Seems good...still well under $4000, right?
So save the remainder for when your great new PC is not good enough for the newest games that come out in 2 years!

I hope English is not your first language. If it is, then I suggest you take some of that $4K, and invest it in a language tutor.

And if you're looking for a good way to reduce application load times, then you could get two hard drives, and stripe them together.
