    Fraps

I just got the full version of fraps and it instantly closes whenever I open it. I made sure I have the latest drivers and everything else it says to. I can see the window pop up for a split second and close right away. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Are you sure it's closing and not just minimizing to the system tray?

See.... I used to be like that, and then I realized that rather than waiting for someone to answer my question, I could probably type "fraps" into google and have an answer in less time than it would take me to post the question.

Yeah I have checked the processes. When I open it I can see the process start up and close just like the app. I have no idea why it is closing at all.

Fraps is a utility that allows you to, among other things, see the framerate in games and also take screenshots or movies.

I haven't had any problems with it, Glirk. It looks like there might be a support area for registered members on their site.

It covers the basic stuff when running it. n00b stuff more or less not issues with running it. I also cannot find anything on google. This blows.

EDIT - Got it working all of a sudden, not sure what I did to fix it but it works. However in games when I try and use it to record a movie it goes from 70fps to 5. I have a 3500+ and 6800gt and 2x74gb raptor drives in raid-0. Why am I taking such an FPS hit?

I don't know why, but usually on most games my FPS goes from about 50-60 down to 20s. In more intense battles it goes even lower, but no that much.

Well, you are generally going to get a performance hit, when running two demading processes at once.

I know I will be getting a performance hit. Just the fact that it is so drastic means there is something wrong. 70fps down to 5 is not normal.
