Does not comply with the licensing requirements, strange error message.

I recently installed "Windows Small Business Server 2003 Standard Edition" on my machine at work, out of the box, nothing pirated, normal install. I accidently set it as a domain controller, and fixed this by removing Active Directory yesterday.

Today, it started broadcasting the following message to all Win2K machines on the network VIA netBIOS (Net Send)

"JOHNNYTSUNAMI does not comply with the licensing requirements. Contact your administrator."

JOHNNYTSUNAMI is the name of my computer.

That is a screenshot of the problem. Obviously, everybody finds this annoying, and it happens every hour or so (twice so far). Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

The problem is, someone is trying to 'phish' you into doing something you really shouldn't.
Turn the bloody thing off and figure out how to stop your machine leaking onto the internet.
If you really have a sysadmin, then contact them about their apparent query, and ask them how to secure your machine.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

This machine is behind a firewall, latest patches, everything. Internet explorer in enhanced security, etc., etc, and has been ever since Windows was isntalled.

Its not coming from an outside source (obviously), and there isn't spyware on my computer. Its not the case of an unsecured computer. Its some peice of software with an incorrect registration, everyone here is sure of that. We just can't figure out what it is.

I'd like to point out, that if it was a phishing scheme, and they actually wanted my information, they'd provide some form of contact (fake or not). Contacting your system administrator wouldn't give a malicious program your information.

I'm not a network security professional, but I've been with Windows long enough to know how to keep my machine secure. Trust me, this is not a case of a poorly secured machine.

Looking around Google, this seems to be specific to SBS 2003 rather than any other software. Hell, people who just received their servers from Dell have had this problem!

Only lead I can pick up on is that there is a problem with the network infrastructure its connected to. Have you tried disconnecting parts of the network to see if the problem goes away? If so, then it still thinks its a domain controller.

This error message is sent if you have joined the SBServer to a Existing
Domain and it is in contravention of the License agreement because of
    it.

The SBServer -must be- the Root of Forest holding all the FSMO Rolls,
and cannot be a member of another Domain.

If you can't fix it, you should consider asking on microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs.
