    ups

The power here flickers maybe once or twice a week, and I lose processing time because of it - last night I lost quite a few hours. Anyway, I am looking at buying a UPS - what do you guys think of something like this? Do you have a suggestion for something better maybe? I am running two machines - an Athlon 700 and an Athlon64. When I am not around I turn my monitor off.

Well the link doesn't work for me but I'd check elsewhere than Staples. They have some pretty awful prices usually. If you live in the US, check out www.newegg.com.

Well UPS's are very expensive... can you think of a cheaper solution?

I think the question is can you think of a cheaper solution? your post really didn't add anything... AFAIK, this is the best solution, and I also suggest newegg if you're in the U.S.

edit: OP: the link you gave requires your postal code to see products... and I'm guessing you live in Canada.

I've been kinda in the market for a Power Supply as well, and this one seems good for it's price...

that one is 330 watts, i couldnt power half my system with that
    this one more expensive, but
constant good power that your system needs is good thing.

You don't power your system with it for an extended... you only need enough to keep your system up for a short period, and 330W should do just about any system you're running.

I'm just looking to keep two monitors and two systems running for a couple of minutes (enough time for a little more than a shutdown sequence) before I get to shut them down... and once I get the shutdown started I can kill the monitors if it's very necessary...

If you buy a good enough UPS, they often come with software packages that will perform the shutdown for you.
