An article explaining how CPU works?

    Hi all!

Does anyone know of a good article explaining how a CPU works? It must be really detailed, and it's good if it explains differences between different types of processors (pentium, amd etc) and also says something about 64-bit architecture (x86_64, ia64).

I've seen several articles (like the one from HowStuffWorks.com and wikipedia.org), but somehow they were not exactly what I was looking for.

Any suggestions on where I can find such an article?

    Thanks...
The OS requirements were Windows Vista Ultimate or better, so we used Linux.
