You'll have to provide some evidence. This would totally invalidate Windows security and details would be all over the web, usenet, ntbugtraq etc. Far more complex privilege escalation vulnerabilities are usually patched within a month or two.Originally Posted by RoD
I tried both methods of creating a user account on Windows XP without success. The User Accounts control panel applet doesn't give me the option to create a new user. When I click on the help item for creating a new user it says: "This is a task that only a computer administrator can do".
The other method to create a new user is to go to Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Local Users and Groups. This lets me complete the new user form, but when the Create button is pressed gives an "Access Denied" error.
