no connection

hi guys,
i am facing a problem.
i have a 256 kbps broadband with adsl modem.
since yesterday i am not able to get connected,
the error which is being shown is-remote computer is not responding.
is something on the part of my isp is wrong.

calling to my isp is not to much help.
plz help me out.

Have you tryed resetting your dsl modem? What make-type is the dsl modem? Do you have a router connecting to the modem?

no, i didn't try to reset that modem,don't have a router,
its a ut-300r adsl modem.

intersetingly this happened to me earlier also earlier this week,

but the connection came after two hours.
i didn't do anything on the modem.

Try shutting it down for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. Sometimes this helps,

If that doesn't fix it, call your ISP again. They could have some sort of outage or your local hub may be fubar.

Interestingly I have got a dial-up connection from the same ISP.
I am able to connect from my dial-up connection.
Dose that indicate anything,do they use same servers for the both.

Another thing there were some internal strikes going on with the employees
Company of my ISP.,maybe that is responsible for the imbroglio.

if you are talking about MTNL or BSNL, you are going to have such problems with the connection all the time..if you are not, then sorry..coz i think yer from india.

ur on the spot dude,am a bsnl subscriber,
but surprisingly got my connection back,

think it proves that they were having probs.
