I really wonder how some people make it through the day....

First of all, a few pointers for your next idiotic question:

    1) Try giving it a better title: "Question!" doesn't give ANYONE a clue about what you're going to ask before they open the thread. If you're just trying to get more people to read it, stop it. It is fscking annoying.

    2) "I have a question that i need to ask here." NO SH1T.

As for your actual question, you have to know the IP address to use net send. That is all. The operating system does not matter. For more help, just type "net send" into a command prompt and it will tell you what inputs you need. Or hey, here's a novel idea: USE GOOGLE.

Your mom didn't teach you how to spell or post intelligently?

Let's keep this civil, folks. Joanna, Ober brings up a good point about the title of this thread. Please look at the board guidelines; one of them is to use descriptive titles. "Question!" is not.

You need to make sure messenger is enabled

If you just search the help in W2k, you'll get the following:

    Code:
    Net Send

Sends messages to other users, computers, or messaging names
on the network. The Messenger service must be running to
    receive messages.
    net send {name | * | /domain[:name] | /users} message

    Parameters

    name
Is the username, computername, or messaging name to send the
message to. If the name is a computername that contains blank
characters, enclose the alias in quotation marks (" ").
    *
Sends the message to all the names in your group.
    /domain[:name]
Sends the message to all the names in the computer's domain. If
name is specified, the message is sent to all the names in the
    specified domain or workgroup.
    /users
Sends the message to all users connected to the server.
Based on the above, the anwer is Yes but they also have to have messenger running and if their security is tight, forget it.

I agree with the webmaster on being specific on your subject but the other posts are useless, the main reason why I rarely come back here.
