    limiting dandwidth on of a pc?

    I have a small home network using 2 computers connected on the same LinkSYS router. All the software for the router is installed on my machine, both systems use XP. Now what i want to do is assign, (if i can say that word) the maximum bandwidth the 2nd computer can use at a given time, for example if my connection/download speed is 400kb, i want to make the 2nd computer use no more than 150kb, and the rest be used by the other system.

    The 2nd pc is mostly used for browsing the net so when that system is on and people visit all these sites with huge resolution pictures, it uses almost all the bandwidth and my machine crawls and starts lagging a lot. Is there a way or some kind of software that would let me do this?
    When no one helps you out. Call google();

    Some routers allow you to configure rate profiles.
    Try reading the manual.

    Or tell us which model of router you have, and perhaps someone here will read the manual for you

    If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

    that can't be accomplished by most cable/dsl modem routers that isp's give customers, you're looking at spending $60-70 USD for a router that can do that (at least from what I've seen lately).
    PHP and XML
    Let's talk about SAX

    Since you're only using 2 computers and a Linksys router, if it's available use the QoS settings and give your primary PC (by MAC address) high priority, this should help.

    I also use this to give high priority to the standard Half-Life client port.
