capture card wont work with xp

I bought a capture card about a month agao, and when i installed it in my xp machine it wouldnt work.I thought the card was bad, so i put it in my windows 98 machine and it worked in it.I then put windows 98 on my xp machine and it worked, but i need this card to work with xp in this machine. the original drivers that came with it had xp drivers, i tried updating them, the card still wont work. i tried in msconfig to cut the application gateway off thinking that was it, that didnt work either.any help would be thankful.

Capture cards are crap no matter who makes them. There are too many system conflicts for the most part and Windows just does not like them.

Not to be a I am sillyI am sillyI am sillyI am sillyy, non-helper for your problem, but go about your life like the rest of us: watching tv on a tv and the radio on a radio.

Short of that, call the manufacturer. There is no good way for us to tell what the problem is.

I had one of them cards:

    1. Who's the manufacturer
    2. Uninstall Quicktime and reboot and try it, worked for me the first time I tried to get it to work. Seems that Quicktime conflicts with the capture driver. (Well, on mine it did) <- Cancel this, just noticed you didn't have it installed.
    3. Go to www.driverguide.com (join, it's free), they have 3rd party drivers that have been developed after companies stop supporting devices. This is where I got a driver for mine and it worked on XP.
