Quick question about replacing laptop harddrive

Sorry for the stupid question but this is an absolute first for me and I'd hate to pay money and find out this didn't work. Basically for the first time ever I've had a harddrive crash on me, one day after the warranty expired on the laptop (coincidence??). I've done everything I can find online to try and fix it and everything points to an unrepairable error so it looks like I need to get a new drive.

Now my question is, assuming I get the correct model for my laptop, all I have to do is install it, pop in the Windows Install CD that came with the laptop, install Windows again, and except for missing all of the files that were on my old drive I'm good to go right?

Yea its pretty easy. Just make sure you get one that will fit your laptop, and take your time when opening her up. If the cases seem to hang up on each other, look for screws you missed and make sure its not hanging up on a wire.

just take your time and you will be fine.
