    webmatrix

has anyone used this asp.NET tool? is it anygood?

I have to develop a rather extensive app that uses a server, but I want the database to be local; I think webmatrix should do the trick. Any input? other tools?

been good! getting back into the swing of things.

    but since you asked....

    [warning rant ahead ]

Just spend 5 hours upgrading my new pc (yes I came home to a brand new PC!!!11!!) to winXP pro. First, the (legal) copy I had, had a corrupt file or something or other - but it didn't tell me after the initial phase of the upgrade has begun. All it gave me was a log file...after I closed it the pc rebooted.....to an empty screen.

Since this was a full version CD, I wanted to install the whole thing - but no, I couldn't - it said I have another version of XP and it wont install itself in the same fscking partition. Well I ran DOS, formatted the disk, inserted the CD again - and yes, right in the middle of the install, about 30 mins in, that corrupt file appeared yet again - see how brilliant I am?

anyways, I used my restore CD, restored the whole damn thing...went online and downloaded another (legal) iso of XP pro...burned that and it worked fine - except that my audio driver got messed up. Well gateway offers and EXTREMELY easy way to get your drivers, which was nice.

Now I'm in the process of installing .NET and its about done, it took more than an hour without the documentation.

AND ALL THIS JUST SO I CAN WORK WITH FREAGIN WEBMATRIX!!!!!! also I needed IIS to work

I've had this pc for less than 3 days, and allready I had to run restore - wow - must be a record.

    so.....

....how are you? how is bounty hunting?
