Have you tried any command line options?

    Try: plasma.exe -h or plasma.exe /h

Ok Hunter think of it this way.

If these programs are meant to be run from with in a console or other programs, when an error occurs it will simply send out the error message and exit. It will not wait for a keypress.

Now with that being said, try these programs from the command line.

For simplicity's sake, make a temp folder in C: and call it TEMP. Put these programs in here. Now all you need to do is open up a command line and type "cd\temp"

Now type in the name of the program. This way you will see any error messages and/or usage errors.

Also dont you have ANY kind of reference for these programs that have usage instructions and/or requirements?

lol ok sorry no I have no reference much, exect that they shoudl work. And I never said they exited I said the screen turned black. It stayed balck until I myself exited.

And I did try teh comand promt thing, no errors. It ran fine from that, but I still got a black screen.

I am thinking our vid card can't disply those types of programs. One reason I think that is becuase our vid card is wierd and gave us a double desktop, it is 2 times as big, as in the mouse can go off of the edge on the right.

MMM, you need to fix that.

Go to your display properties or your device manager and disable your other display adapter.

When you installed your GFX card you never disabled the old Display Adapter. So disable that and try again.

dang it! I am too afraid to do anythign like that now.

I have had horible experience before!

But I will think about doing that later...

And we/I have talked to a micorsoft "expert" (didn't seem like one to me) and she said that it was our vid card after lots of pointless help that didn't help.

    lol.

I would almost promise that whatever is supposed to happen is happening on the second display. I have had this same thing happen to me before.

Just go to Display Properties and click the settings tab (assuming XP ) now you should see an illustration of two "monitors", click on the second one, then uncheck the "Extend my desktop onto this monitor".

That should be a quick fix. But you still should disable the device.

edit: also, to check your problem, go to your magnifier ( start > programs > accesories > accessibility > magnifier ) then you can move your mouse out off the right of the screen onto your second display and see whats over there.

ok so I never fixed the .exe problem, but when you say disable do you mean put the vid one on primary? Because that is all I did, and I hooked up the monitor cable to the vid card.

Is that what you mean or not?

Well in your device manager you really need to disable these devices. Sort of an "uninstallation" for the hardware.

But as long as you are only using the one display for your desktop, that shouldnt change the way the program runs.

Where did you get them at. Did you get them off of a website? If so, post the link.
