    Making a Fat32 Partition for both OS's

Alright, my situation: I installed Mandrake 10, and I liked it because the built in partitioner was great. I have had bad expieriences with Partition Magic. I want a fat32 partition for use of Both OS's. But I don't know how I should approach it. I'd rather not use Partition Magic, and I'm a COMPLETE linux newb...

so my question is, Can I use that amazing built in partitioner to make a fat partition? And if so, how?

    Thanks guys

I have also had bad experiences with PM but just yesterday i downloaded version 8 to setup my disk for slackware. It worked great. Download version 8, and fire it up. Click on drive c: (or whatever) in the main window and click create partition in the upper left corner. Click next on the driver letter, and it'll show a list of partitions on that drive. Leave them selected and click next. Type in the amount of space, say 8 gigs (8,000.00) for example. Then name it and click fat32 from the drop down menu. Click finish, then flick file > apply changes. All set.

I am not sure I understand your question. Just use Mandake to create the partition as fat32. When you boot to Windows it will automatically recognize the additional drive for you!

I have used both PM 8 and Mandrake to do the partitioning. Both work great the only problems I have encountered are when I used BOTH PM and Mandrake I think that they handle things a little different. So I would say use Mandrake OR use PM but not both. Also it is a good idea to defrag the drives before running PM.

    Hope this helps.

Alright, I'll look up how to do that. Thanks
