Nero Burning ROM - "Invalid Field in Parameter"

I've never heard of this problem before and searching google yields absolutely no assistance. Nero works just fine on my PC, but on my new Sony laptop trying to burn (with the internal DVDRW/CDRW) immediately causes nero to print the messages "Invalid field in parameter" then "cannot perform start of disk-at-once."

Any of you people ever have this problem? I tried installing ForceASPI, but it makes no difference at all.

check to see if your drive has newer drivers...or if you recently updated them, roll back to the originals. If none of that works, see if Nero has an update, what version are you running (the current version is 6.3, with 6.6 coming in november).

Thanks for the reply. Actually it is a new laptop (a few weeks old) and the drive works fine (I burned a CD using Windows Media Player). The version I have is 6.0.0.11 or so. I'm going to go try using the latest version and see what happens.

ok, but just so you know, just because the laptop is new doesn't mean the drive isn't, it's most likely not a model that came out a few weeks ago. Most computer companies like to stick with drives that have been tested, so chances are there are new drivers/firmware for it. But yeah, updating Nero is a good idea.

Got it working. Just uninstalled all Nero products and installed the latest version and the burn went well.
