    Network Card

    hi dude,

i have another thing to ask here. After i install a network card driver. The thing came up "This device is not working properly because of windows cannot load the (odiload.VXD) that loads the drivers for the device"

it came again and again.each time i try to install the network card. What should i do?

    Thanks.

Try removing the device from the system completely (Device Manager and physically from the machine) and then try to reinstall it. I'd also suggest checking your driver to see if you have the right one.

Then you should mention your diagnostic techniques in the OP. We can only assume... and assuming gets us in trouble.

My guess is that you have a corrupt virtual driver, and it's possible a reinstallation of the OS could be your only fix. I guess you could also try to find a newer version of that vxd file and try to replace that.

    What NIC is it?

For your information, the NIC is EN1207D-TX 10/100BT LAN adapter driver.

i think installing a driver won't take me much time but i'm quite sick with this one.

sometimes,it came up,two network adapter in the device manager there.

do you think that there is other NIC built in?
    pls...reply.
    Thanks

*sigh* I'm sitting here asking myself why I try as I do this:

    1) I have no idea if there is another one built in. Why don't you have a look? How many places can you plug a cat5 cable into the back of the PC?

    2) You haven't tried installing the DRIVER!?!?!?! That'd be something you MIGHT want to do.

    3) The NIC info you gave me doesn't help me hardly at all. Who manufactures the card? Where did you get that information?

    4) Why don't you let someone else do this for you?

Whay are you asking here? Surely the NIC card has a manufacturer and they will most likely have a website with software downloads and support.

Well i was thinking the same when i was trying to answer on this post: http://cboard.cprogramming.com/showthread.php?t=56911

Good luck Ober and @ Joanna are you trying to dissamble and assemble comps or fixing comps for people?
If so youŽd better leave it to someone else, if not you sure have a lot of problems with systems...

seriously joanna, what is wrong with you?

you've had 3 similar threads, everytime we ask you never tell us what freaking version of windows you're running, you never give us the needed info to help, you just expect there to be some widely known answer for all the freaking problems your coming to us with. If that were the case, then our lives would be a lot easier, but it's not. You need to start helping us help you, but this is just getting rediculous. You obviously can't do this yourself if you first off can't get it to work, second, don't know how to ask for help, and third, obviously don't know the basics about computers anyway. TAKE YOUR COMPUTER TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE DOING.
    PHP and XML
    Let's talk about SAX

wow, i think in a previous post she said she was on win98
anyways, back in the day when alot of people were sitll using
win98, i noticed that osmetimes the OS would install the device
twice, but it would only show up once, but if you restarted in safe
mode it would show both devices in the device manager.

You should uninstall them both from there, and restart windows
and let it install once more.

Could possibly help, question why do you think the card is damnaged?

Also its werid that you dont understand some of these simple
things but then you understand this other stuff.
