    triple monitor set up

I can't seem to get a triple monitor set up to work with one AGP and 2 pci video cards. I've gotten a AGP and a PCI for dual to work but no triple. The other video card says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
Could some help me set this up?

    PC Specs:
    AMD Athlon XP 2600+ BARTON
    512MB DRR400 Ram

    Video Cards:
    GeForce FX 5200 256MB 8X AGP

    PCI 1: S3 ViRGE 2MB
    PCI 2: ATI mach64 CT 2MB(ERROR CODE 10)

BIOS is set to boot to pci

it won't work, motherboards have certain irq limitations, use a crt apapter to hook one of them up to your agp card. Then you'll be able to hook up 2 on the agp, and 1 on the pci.

not true, several compaines carry cards that support more than 2 monitors per card, 3dlabs, nvidia, the list continues. But I don't think he wants to spend that kind of money...

I don't know about that...matrox cards are not that great. There's a reason that professional developers use 3dlabs cards. I'm surprised matrox is still in business.

crt apapter? Where do i get one and how much is this? Could i manualy set the irqs to use 2 pci video cards? I don't wan't to spend much money so the cheapest way would be the best for me. By the way pci 1 is now a S3 ViRGE DX/GX 4MB.

irq's are sort of preassigned, there's only 1 irq for video...well technically 2, but one's agp and one's available for pci.

Most performance video cards like yours come with the adapter unless you bought it oem, it's basically an adapter to convert the dvi out to a crt out, so if you don't have it or threw it out:

pay 3k or would 300 be fine?, ya 3dlabs has excellent cards but extremely expensive. And here now of us want to spend 3k, but 300 sounds resonable for a vc.

my point was he doesn't even have to spend money on another card, all he needs is that adapter I just posted...it costs 10 bucks and he doesn't have to install any new hardware. Plus, I wouldn't pay only 300 bucks for a card that supports 3 monitors, I've never trusted matrox, sorry but I don't. And you can get 3dlabs cards for MUCH under 3000, that's only if you want the ones with a gig of ddr3....anyway, he just needs an adapter and he's ready to roll.
