    Message - what message?
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

That took way too long - next time, post a screenshot of the actual dialog (learn to use MS-Paint). Not everyone can use read MS Doc files.

Well since the font is in use, try making it not in use, say by
    - killing all the applications which use it
    - rebooting the machine and installing the font before the first app which uses it
    - rebooting in safe mode and installing the font
