Hello,
Im just looking for any words of wisdom anyone with any experience of these things may have to offer.
Im getting a new laptop tommorow which i would like to run slackware on, ive got a couple of linux boxes so am not worried about installing slack on this thing but im a little miffed with how im going to be able to hook the wi-fi thing into it. The laptop will be a dell 510m which comes with dells own truemobile wireless card, im about 90% sure there are no nix drivers for this card.
If anyone has a linux laptop which they have got wi-fi working on would you mind giving me a couple of hints as im a little stuck as to where to start. How would you control what network you are connected to ? Has something already been developed to control things like this or is it a case of directly configuring the card to the network each time from something like ifconfig ?
Anyway if anyone can spare 2 minutes with a couple of pointers I would appreciate it.
Thanks in Advance.
Stan
