One computer using two mice & two keyboards

I want one keyboard + one mouse in front of the monitor, and I also want one mouse + one keyboard in front of the TV (which is of course connected to the computer as well). How would I solve this? I would prefer if I could connect mouse+mouse in the PS/2 mouse port, and keyboard+keyboard in the PS/2 keyboard port.

Can I just connect two mice to one port by rewire the cables? and what about the keyboards?

    get a keyboard/mouse switch. Example: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....2&type=product
while it says two computer with one keyboard mouse you can set it up to handle multiple keyboards/mouse and one computer.

I suspected there would exist some kind of switch. However, I'm not willing to pay several hundred swedish kr for a stupid thing like that.

Thanks anyway, but I'm more interested in a cheap solution, it has to be possible to do this "by yourself". I WILL connect two mice (and keyboards if I get that far) to my PS/2 port if nobody stops me with a better solution.

well I'm not sure if the port can handle multiple devices. what the switch does is limit the input to one device at a time.

But yeah you could easily build one yourself. Would just need some wire, some gates, and some switchs (double pull, double throw IIRC)

unless you build a switch yourself you find any inexpensive ideas. KVM's have always been quite expensive.

    I wish they werent....

You can have 2 mice connected fine... i've even had the machine give me 2 pointers.

I'm not sure about keyboards, but I'd imagine you could connect all of these as USB devices and it work just fine.

    ok thanks. I try that.

Haha, my humour is quite primitive, but I think it would be fun with two people arguing about what the computer should do, especially if they are high on drugs at the same time.
