    start menu behavior

    is there any way I can easily stop Windows XP from raising some items on the start menu and lowering other items, like in the following picture:

    Somewhere in the control panel, there's a nice list of all the comic features of XP you can turn off to make it more like 2K

    You should be able to right-click on the taskbar and find an option to turn that off.

    Something like "Use Personalized Menus", perhaps...
