    CPU Temps

My xp1800+ is running @ 2037MHZ with a 1.755 vcore and 1.875 nbcore....the cpu temp at the core is 37.9C via hardcano panel, and my case temp is slightly above at 41.2C.....is that high or about right? I have the radiator fan all the way down and the case exhaust fan about 1/4 up.

These temps are OK, what are the temps under full load?

    Something isn't right there...

For starters, that's a REALLY hot case temp. If it were true, which I don't think it is, you need to get more air moving through there.

Here's why I don't believe it, is 37.9C > 41.2C? No. How is your CPU running cooler than the air around it? Your CPU temp sounds about right, everything you're doing is very similar to my setup (1700+ @ 2.0 GHz, 1.775 vcore, etc...) and I am full load around 38C-40C. Case temp however, is 26 C.

considering the cpu is entirely liquid cooled and the entire system (except a few inches of tube and the three waterblocks) is contained outside the case its very possible to have the cpu colder than the case.

the only fan inside is at the very top exhausting out, maybe i should put one in the back to exhaust the rear.

I knew that! Not sure why I forgot you had a watercooled system....

Yes, more fans! Just one more fan, say a low speed 120 mm fan (push lots of air, make little noise) will significantly lower case temps. 40C is just way too hot. Lowering the case temp would be a good thing, and pretty much all of your components will benefit. Especially your video card.

well the CPU/GPU/Northbridge are all inline with the water cooling, so they are ok. I'm going to add a second 120mm to the heater core to drop the temps down. As it stands now i have a t-line, and the series is core--cpu--northbridge---gpu----pump---core

It works well but i can get more. I also didnt realize the LED window fan on the side panel isnt plugged in hehe. That will help. I added a TT 80mm case fan and its down to 30C case temp

    That's more like it
10 degree drop is pretty significant.

Not sure about case probe. I'm pretty sure that most are by the southbridge, but more accurate would probably be somehwhere higher, where more of the warm air is.

I was thinking of putting it on the CDROM cage under the cdrom but away from it. I was going to put it all the way at the top but i think the fan up there would throw it off.
