    mouse drivers

I have a logitech mouse here at work, and it works great for most apps, but I have one application (Homesite 4) that it won't scroll with the mouse wheel. I have the same program at home and a microsoft mouse and it works fine.

I've downloaded the latest driver for Logitech and it doesn't help. So I'm wondering if it is possible to use different (MS) drivers for this mouse!?

    Any comments would be appreciated.

set a restore point (in case it really fscks up) then use the ms driver. 3 things could happen, A it could work, B all you have to do is roll back the driver, or C you'll have to use the restore point to get it working again.

But I don't think there's a whole lot of difference between a logitech and ms mouse, as long as they have the same amount of buttons and are both either optical or not.

I'm on Win2K. No such thing as a restore point.

oh ok, well, just make a backup of your system32 folder just in case (same thing as a SR basically).

Does 2k have the driver rollback feature? If not, just uninstall the driver and install the logitech one (if needed). But a generic 3 button mouse driver should work fine...that's how linux does it.

It's a work computer... I'm not going to even attempt that. I think I'll take your advice, Waldo, and see what I can do. Thanks.

Ok, so I've uninstalled the Logitech drivers, installed the MS ones and it seems to be working OK except for the ONE PROBLEM I NEEDED IT TO FIX.

I'm beginning to think it's a problem with Win2k & Homesite in combination. I think I had a MS mouse at my old company and I had the same problem. Maybe I can con my current company into buying me a newer version of Homesite.

Does Homesite 4 even support the scroll function? Just an idea.

Maybe you should try reading the OP again. I have it at home and it works with the scroll.

    Add scrolling to Homesite

Install a free downloand program called KatMouse - then you can add the homesite.exe file to its progrm list and scroll through the window. it is GREAT to have it back after all these years.
