    windows echo

Something is wrong with my sound. I know it has nothing todo with my sound card or speakers because on linux I get perfect sounds. Windows for some reason echos everything. What can I do to stop these echos. It echo's too much. When there is a chime it chimes with echo's. Its nice effects but I want my sound with no echos. What can I do to stop the echos?

    BTW: I have win98

    Thanx in advance!
