Hello,
I having problems viewing the properties of mp3 files by right clicking in windows explorer. When I try to view the properties it brings up a error report screen wanting to send a report to microsoft. After clicking "Don't Send" explorer closes and returns me to the desktop.
Anyone here have this problem?

yep,
I've tried avi,mpg,txt, just about everything else. It only happens with mp3's.
oh, and sorry about posting in the wrong board. I didn't even think about the tech board. I figured the questing was a little off topic seeing as it has nothing to do with programming.
edit: I just found out it also happens with wmv's.

Re-install exprlorer.
Of course that would require you to install Windows completely. Don't forget to back-up!

IDE: emacs + make + gcc and proud of it.
I don't think a re-install is quite necessary. If it only happens with 2 file types, then I'd say there is something else going on. I'm not sure what tho.
Do you have XP? If so, .... actually, even with 2K... when you click on a file, do the properties show up on the left side? (I guess this would just be in normal window browsing, not using Explorer.)
If you don't use Explorer, is this still an issue?
After about 4 days of searching, I finally figured it out. I guess it helps to check the event viewer every now and again. I found that the problem was coming from wmasf.dll, found another copy in my service pack files and replaced it. All seems well now.
