    Question Pcmcia -> Usb?

    Hello,

    I know you can get PCI interfaces for PCMCIA cards so you can use them with a desktop computer, but is it possible to get a USB (Preferably USB 2.0) interface for them?

    I've tried Googling but I get half a million 2-port USB hubs for PCMCIA.

    A google search turned up this:

    http://www.wiredzone.com/xq/asp/ic.3...x/itemdesc.htm

    Although I think that only works for their backup products.

    Here's one: http://www.gotink4u.com/USBproducts/converters.htm

    But it looks like a shady site.

    And then there is this:
    http://www.quatech.com/catalog/drives_pcmcia.php

    I guess I should ask what type of PCMCIA card you are trying to use?

    Thanks for taking the time, ober.
    I was simply looking for something to plug an ATA Flash PCMCIA card into, the Epson printer we have at home can do it, but I didn't fancy lugging that to my uni room.

    I eventually decided to learn something about PCMCIA and desktop computers first, so I searched around and found out that my best bet is probably a PCI card, as while USB interfaces only support flash and hard drives, PCI interfaces can use actual 16-bit and CardBus devices, too. Might be useful in the future (Although given the advent of a portable version of PCI Express, might also be a white elephant).
