"When I die I want to pass peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather did, not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car."

Ok, we need a little more info. What are you using to do your FTP transfers? Do you have a firewall? Can you setup filters in your email that will stop the spam?

there are TONS of FTP clients that you can set a proxy in:

The UI is excellent and I've been very happy with its performance. And there should be no way that you are getting an increase in spam because of using FTP, unless you are logging into a lot of servers anonymously using your email address.
