Ok, when i start up my computer, i wont get output from my rear speakers untill i run the creative test. Then suddenly the rear speakers kick in. Any ideas?

Do you have the sound on your card set up to 2.1 only? Check to make sure (volume controls, advanced (something like that) ) that you have the profile set up to 5.1 or 4.1 or whatever it is you have.

Yeah, it's gotta be in your settings. The software that comes with that isn't very intelligent. You have to specify everything.
