Just built my PC for college

After putting in around $300 into fixing up the computer I"m on now, my dad decided he'd pay for the parts to get me my own PC for college and experimentation. I just spec'd it out for $280 (I have all the spare case, psu, fan, etc already)

Epox mobo EP-8Kmm3I via km400 chipset
    (onboard everything)
    AMD 2500 Barton
    1 Gig DDR 2700 ram

i've got all the drives already too, so what do you guys think for that price? Good deal?

Normally, on-board grahics chipsets are a bit 'old' compared to their AGP counterparts.

Not sure what VGA comes w/ your board, but you could always consider a better card.

I have MSI K7N (a bit old) and everything on board it has is fine w/ me, but I wish the VGA were better than just 32 MBs of GeForce 2 MX!

$280 for a motherboard, CPU, and 1 GB of DDR 2700 RAM? Holy crap that is cheap, dude. I'd pay $280 CDN for 1GB of RAM, and that would end up being 3200, but still... man.

While I don't know the exact prices he paid, here's a (close) guess:

    CPU - $85
    Motherboard - $65
That leaves $130 for the RAM.
