Default compile flags for gcc on FreeBSD

I remember there being a file in FreeBSD that isn't there by default, but you create it, and it has all the default compile flags defined in it. What is the name of the file?

It's not a file, it's an environment variable called GCC_OPTIONS. You add it to your shell rc file.
The information given in this message is known to work on FreeBSD 4.8 STABLE.
*The above statement is false if I was too lazy to test it.*

No, I remember there's a file that goes into your /usr directory that sets the default compile options globally for all users.
