Well I built a new computer that has the ASUS P4P800 Deluxe motherboard, which has onboard LAN. I want to transfer files from my old computer to my new one. It has some soft of PCI ethernet card. Both systems are running windows xp pro. I bought a crossover cable, but had no idea how to set it up. I went to microsoft's website to look for answers, but I just ended up getting lost in millions of pages. Please help me out if you can.
Plug it in and make sure file sharing is enabled.

How? I thought I tried that and it didn't seem to work.
If you check the Device Manager on each PC, are the NICs showing up as being installed properly?

The way I remember doing it it is to run Network Setup Wizard on each XP box you have there keeping in mind that you'll have to give a unique name to every pc but have them in one same workgroup.
