    Question Windows 2003 / Userenv / Error / Event ID: 1030

    Hi!!

    I get an error message on 2 machines in my domain.

    domain: 3 windows 2003 servers.
    1 server: DC
    2/3 servers: on this I get the error. the both servers are set as member servers.
    how I can fix the error on the both machines?

    you need to enable the distributed file system (DFS)

    run, regedit32,
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Mup,
    in right pane, double click DisableDFS.
    I don't know how regedit in server03 works, but if it's a dword you should have to first click decimal then enter 0 into the edit box. If it's already 0 then DFS is on and thats not the problem.

    Also, another thing causing the quirk could be your file and print sharing. Right click and pull up the properties of the default network connection, click the general tab, make sure that file and prints sharing checkbox is checked.



    Beyond that I don't know what could be wrong.
