I've tried dual booting Windows and Linux, Windows 98 and Windows XP with no problems.
How do I dual boot my machine to Windows 98 and Windows ME? Can anybody help? I need this dual boot because the Windows 98 is going to be a Chinese version.
I plan to have ME on c:\ and 98 on d:\

You can't dual boot 98 and ME. Neither has a boot manager. NT, 2000, and XP do. Linux also has one.

Yes you can, you'd just need to use a 3rd-party boot manager.

Who the hell cares. I meant they do not come with a boot manager. ME is the biggest piece of crap that Microsoft has released. It is not even worth speaking.

I would agree that ME is kind of cruddy. It is not as good as 98 SE. Actually, the most stable Windows machine I have seen is my mom's old 486 Dell with 12mb of ram. She is running Windows 95.You can marginally improve the stability of ME if you set the virtual memory manually. But it still sucks, and things tend to go corrupted badly in a hurry. The best move I made was when I formatted and went straight Linux - it has run nicely for me. Next move will be FreeBSD.

Either use a not-too-expensive boot manager like PowerQuest BootMagic or a completely free e.g. XOSL...

I actually had installed ME on my dads Acer machine (500MHZ) because he insisted on ME even after my protesting. After having set it up my way it has been running for a little over 6 months with no shutdowns but a few reboots and has never had a single hangup or crash.......but yea, ME licks balls.
Nice to have the guts to play w/ FreeBSD. But make sure you pick the stable release, the latest being version 4.8. By the end of this month version 4.9 will be released, if all's according to plan.[i]Next move will be FreeBSD [/B]
AFAIK, anything version 5 is in the CURRENT release, not guaranteed to give you a stable system.
As for me, I'm waiting for version 4.9

I my self currently have a three way with Windows 98SE (to play final fantasy 7) Windows XP Pro, and Red Hat Linux 8. I don't really care for the extra things added by Red Hat. I prefer the Slackware Distribution.

I have never had a problem with ME when I was using it. Where and why the whole "ogmz MEi s teh sux0rz" nonsense came from, I can't answer.
If someone asks how you can dual boot 98 and ME, telling them ME "is the biggest piece of crap Microsoft has released" is arrogant bull. Go slap yourself.
Of course like everyone else said though, just use a 3rd party boot manager.
Well one the many that I do, since I'm A+ certified is service personal computers. Out of the hundreds I've serviced only ME suffered from out of the box network crashes, and issues such as you could not type in the edit control object anymore, the items in the control panel just disappeared. These are the things that I base my opinion on that ME is the biggest piece of crap that microsoft has release. So then prove me wrong.

I can't say that any of the Microsoft computers are unstable because frankly I haven't ever had one crash on me. I guess I never really used it for too much until lately. I think the new Mandrake Linux looks REALLY nice for someone like me who needs to be able to use some of the Windows stuff like Word and all and is has loads of support. I hear its one of the best for newbies at linux like me

Redhat crashes all the time for me. Linux apprently sucks.
