    Version???

Is there a reason why a program's version is 1.2 instead of 1.5 or 2.0

I mean, is there a special way to decide on a program's version, or is it just a number.

    Thanks.

Frequently, major revisions of software increment the first digit, minor revisions the second. There is no hard and fast rule, firms have their own reasons for their version number strategy.
