The msgsrv32.exe program, is failing to start. This could be due to corruption of the module, or one of the .dll's it uses, or possibly by loading a different version of one of these .dll's.

You can try to fix it by booting from a floppy/cd and copying...

    MSGSRV32.EXE
    ADVAPI32.DLL
    GDI32.DLL
    KERNEL32.DLL
    MPR.DLL
    USER32.DLL

... from your installation disk to wherever you have your windows files.

If that doesn't work, save your files and re-install the OS.

Find a friend with the same OS. Search for the files Adrian mentioned, and copy them to a floppy disk. Start up your computer into DOS mode. Load the files into their respective locations. If that doesn't work, obtain a Windows install disk and reinstall.

Note: This thread should really be moved to the General Discussion forum. It's not about programming.

Im not sure but if your using win98 id suggest to boot into safe mode by pressing F7 on startup or was it CTRL-F8 anyway, a friend of me had the same prob once, i told him to go into safe mode and then try to fix it.... worth a shot

PS: never heard again about that friend, so mayb his comp has been blown to bits :d

Michael Koo, if you're so new to computing that you don't know how to copy some files in DOS, I suggest you find a friend who can, or attend a computer class. The windows programming forum is a bit advanced for your problem.

But anyway, you should be able to get into DOS mode before your OS starts up by hammering away at the F6 key (may be different for your computer, but definately an F key). You will have a DOS prompt then. Simply type A: to access your floppy disk. Then use this syntax: copy sourcefile destination
    Ie:

    Code:
    copy msgsrv32.exe c:\windows\
    Or whatever path it is.

    Thanks for the helps.
i do exactly what u said?
but it brings me to the safe mode.
i click to the window folder and go to the system folder.
    the msgsrv32.exe is still there
but when i shut down pc ?
it can't load out the window again.
and gives me the same problem.
