If I am not mistaken, you can turn off ALL pop ups via the registry. Yes, I have seen it in there. However a lot of web sites will be unusable as it is actually blocking ALL new windows.

I use Pop-Up Stopper 2.8, I have it set (most of the time) to where I have to press ctrl or shift for a new window to open up. This stops all pop-ups.

I use POW! from http://www.analogx.com, and I really like it. The first time you get a particular popup, you have to add it to the list (which involves 3 mouse clicks total), and then it closes windows that pop up with that title. You can also stick in wildcards for the popup windows that stick some huge random serial number in there. You won't have a problem with websites becoming unfunctional because it only closes the ones you ask it to close. (Works really, really great when you have a HOSTS file blocking the ad servers. I have edexter running too, so I don't even see the 404 errors for the banner ads that can't load...basically ad free browsing everywhere)

When you get pop-ups without a URL bar, just right click on the page and go to properties, that will tell you the URL.

This is quite interesting (and i dont know if its just me!),

ah, mine got the , in the link. That's why it didn't work. Windows does have something that, through a bit of trickery, will allow you to effectively block certain domains. It consists of editing the HOSTS file, which is basically a quick lookup table for IPs. However, if you were to tell your computer that a site's IP address is 128.0.0.1 (localhost) then it will look for the popup or banner on your computer...and not find it. If you go here there are some HOSTS files that you can download that will take the work out of it for you. I also strongly recommend getting eDexter to get rid of the 404s that go along with the HOSTS file trick. (there are also some HOSTS files on the eDexter site) Anyway, I guess that's it
