    Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

    I've a better question-
    Why did MS name the language C#?
    Why has MS gone nuts over the character "#"?
    I mean,I understand y C++ is called so.In computer language "++" means increment. 3 is 2++. C++ is the precedor of C,its C's increment. Hence C++.
    But what does # mean?
    They create a language similar to C and call it C#.
    They create a language similar to Java and call it J#.
    MS names its products with really weird names.

    If you draw "++" vertically above "++" thus...

    Code:
       ++
       ++
    ... it looks like a sharp sign but all in one character cell, better than (C++)++ which presumably, you would understand.
