Heres the story:

-I currently was running my system from a 120GB WD.
-Got my 80GB Maxtor replacement in the mail today.
-Installed replacement.
-Formatted it as the Primary Partition, when it should've been an extended. (IDIOT!)
-Restarted computer
-GRUB comes up in console rather than GUI...wont load kernel, cannot detect HDx#
-Cannot boot from Win98 CD because it is too scratched up, and my friend has my WinXP CD's.

I cannot believe that I selected Partition Magic to format it as Primary, omg...

KICK feel better? WE all have done things like that, or had them done for us. I had XP reformat HD0 to ntfs because It had linux on HD0. I fixed that problem with a fdisk of xp
Besided I hate the whay it looks!

Now I keep much better backups too!
