HI I am going away for a month in a week and was wondering if there is a way that I can access my PC from any PC whilst I am away and if so how do I do it. i.e. I want to work on another computer but work on the files on my computer as if I was sat at it.
theres software for that, do a search. windows xp has a thing built in for that, and unixes have ssh.

I would go with the above option but.. you could install a trodjen corisponding to a port that will eighther *spelling - reconize the IP to the accesing computer, setup a password it will respond to, or both for best security.
Go with NetMeeting! Every single windows computer has it. If you're not going to be near your computer to accept the call, just use the "Remote Desktop Wizard." You'll be able to do a normal login from your computer from another computer and work on it normally. Try it out, best of all, its free.
If you can't find it, go into Start->Run and type in "conf" (without the quotes) and press OK. A small little setup wizard will appear, its useless -- just say yes everywhere.
I use it all the time.

Oh yea, I forgot. If you're going to use Remote Desktop, in the icon that appears (a little globe with a hand, I think):
Right click and press Activate or else it won't work. You only have to do this once. Remote Desktop is a windows service.

First of all, its Trojan :P Secondly, thats the worst idea i have ever heard. No offense, but thats worse then XP's built in function, no trojan is secure, ever, period.

There's even a web version that runs off of a java applet in case you don't have a viewer on the PC you're using. First, you must know the exact address of the PC, the port to connect to, and the password. If you know all that, you can connect from any java enabled web browserIf you don't want to use java (i haven't tested it) there's of course the viewer client as part of the bundled app as well. Just install the remote access server on the main PC, the viewer app on the PC's that will connect to the server, and there ya have it
In the slim chance that someone was to scan his pc, and pull up pc anywhere as a access port, they would have a much harder time gaining access to the computer than someone who is scanning for a trojan and already knows how to abuse it. Should his pc become part of an attack, its 99.9% certain to be a random script kiddie who would rather move on at the sight of a pc anywhere challenge then take it on, but rather would have an easy time with a trojan.Originally posted by golfinguy4

Depends on if its self made or like a $$$$ty sub7 one. Things like sub7 are scanned for, found, and exploited. People dont usualyl scan directly for pc anywhere (usually).
I was implying that a hand coded trojan could be used.
In that case i dont see it being much different then the softwares mentioned.
