    Weird IE error

    IE5 has been giving me the weirdest error lately. It absolutley will not allow pop-up windows. It doesent matter if I want them or not. I do not have any pop up stopper style programs installed or anything like that. Also I can't bring up the "Find" window by going into Edit-->Find.

    Messed up stuff, never seen it before.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Never had that problem. Have you checked out any updates for IE?

    Better yet, download Opera, its stable and better than IE, you never have those kinds of problems.

    Upgrade to IE6

    Has Javascript been disabled ?

    change to mozilla or opera, now sure JS is enable? check out by trying to run this script:
    Code:
    <script language="JavaScript">
    <!--
    window.open('http://www.cprogramming.com','cprog','width=220, height=300');
    //-->
    </script>
    If you can see the pop-up window, well, I have no idea what to tell you, besides from changing to mozilla.

    It sounds to me like something got corrupted. I would definately upgrade to IE6 or go with the better option of using Opera I made the switch over a year ago and I'll never go back.

    Whateaver you do don't use mozila... It may be just my computer but that browser is noticibly slower and dosn't have the kind of options/capabilities that IE has..

    <<Just upgrade IE or download version 5 again and se if that dosnt fix it.>>

    I dont know about opera but you could try it anyway

    Or you could search the web for a browser- not recomended, there probably not that good. Not to say you won't find anything but.. try the other two options first.

    You're kidding, right? I find Mozilla a lot snappier than IE, and then there's this

    Sry.. didn't mean to caus an uproar...
    On my computer it's slower, and when I ment options/capibilities, maby mozilla can do most of it but not all.. try going to hackers.com with mozilla when "you enter the core" it just sits there forever and eternity, thats not the onely site it does that on eighther *spelling. And with IE, it loads in like a second. I would definantly upgrade IE to version 6 but that's just me.
    Another note that 101 resons is well...

    n.18 deleat cookies, do thet in windows explorer verry easilly

    There are less programms for mozilla and I got some/allot to work with IE.

    You can do allot easily whithout eigther browser - veiw source, debuging, manage passwords, those are nobrainers to do outside the browser.

    Allot are disadvantage, this is stuff it does that IE dose or dosn't do like mozilla dosn't load hackers.com IE does.

    Allot are verry stupid reasons.. giant lizards are cool, more font options, can set minimun font size.

    n.90.. not there anymore, besides there finger cliant sucks.

    IE can be easily uninstalled and installed too. maby mozila is easear but but there both easily installed/uninstalled.

    half the disadvantages/fetures you wont eaven use or need to.. xul, support blinking text? like your goin to use that, anyway hardly anyone would see it blinking because i'd say 1/5 people use mozilla.

    "select some text", ya just some.

    Encrypting passwords is easy.

    1/5 are costomizability options.. theme, color,search engine
    allot of "fetures/some disadvantages" can be clasified as one..

    IE is faster.

    I could go on if I had the nerve to read the whole thing but... I'm not goin to go into a big argument.. I just wanted to point out it isn't better. And that I didn't mean mozilla sucked.

    only reason why some websites load slower / do not load at all in other browsers but IE is because some people design said websites to be IE specific. Other browsers are close to being able to load IE specific code; however, there will still be people that code IE specific features.

    Just another reson to use IE.
    I tried opera last night.. At least it loaded hackers.com, when I "entered the core"

    Use IEradicator tool and remove Internet Explorer from your Machine then install Latest version of Internet Explorer. That will work best.

    And of you are on Windows box then don't use any other browser then Internet Explorer.

    Mozilla works fine under linux but its really resource hungry. Don't use Mozilla on Windows.

    Opera , well its good for Windows , fast also but let me guarantee you that its not stable (atleast on my machine)

    Opera keeps crashing regularly. Recently I instllaed Opera 7 but still when I click on somelink to download something the application breaks.

    I don't like such strange behavior of Opera.

    IE is best in Windows.

    Strange. Opera works better on my computer than IE, in my opinion.

    This may sound dumb, but with IE, it can't find hackers.com "the site is unavailable" This is not just an isolated event, because i have tried it multiple times before, with the same result. The same happened with Opera.
    The only good thing about freezing beyond feeling in the final Nordic ski race was that I couldn't feel that tumble I did going about 30 mph, maybe more.
    On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.

    Windoze: XP, hate it, though its more stable than my old 98SE
