    mac dvd rom region code

First off: I'm writing this on a dvorak not a qwerty so this is painfully slow beyond words.

Second: This is a friends Mac so this is painfully... er... Mac (where the *&^% is the &#$*ing hyphon???)... er... painfully Mac-like. (My god did that ever suck.)

Anyhow, shes got a built in (laptop) DVD-ROM. The region code has been changed several times as she just returned from a year long stint in Korea. The help files indicate that the code can be changed 5 times before it becomes permanent. This is a) Retarded, and b) Stuck on the Korean region code.

I'm trying to watch "Band of Brothers" here! I'm sure there's a way... I figure someone here will know. It's a Mac so I know nothing. Being a Mod and all, I need a legal way, but, if you have any other, er... useful... info, please feel free to PM me... It's not very useful being restricted to Korean DVDs here in Canada.

    Thanks all.

P.S. If you only knew how long this took to write...

P.P.S. Yes, I'm on a Mac. Its not mine so STFU.

Ironic, since the Dvorak was meant for speed typing. (Of course it's probably not your fault if you were taught to type w/QWERTY. Isn't it stupid that the most common keyboard is one designed to be as inefficient as possible?)

EDIT: What does STFU stand for?

I'd just e-mail the DVD manufacturer or try out DeCSS

STFU is Shut the fsck up.

    Yup.

Exactly. I type worse than my father on this damn thing. (I'm on it again. Hence the pithyness.)

Found something called Region X but cant get it to actually acomplish its goal. I feel so naked when not armed with my heavy arsenal of diagnostic apps.
